How to Will Yourself to Success

One challenge of the human condition is gathering the strength and courage to break through the barriers we erect which keep us from confronting personal problems and challenges. It seems that avoidance and fear are the twin killers to personal progress. Why is it that some of us can motivate ourselves to accomplish everyday tasks and set long-term goals? Why is it that others of us often avoid, procrastinate, and waste valuable time agonizing about our inability to carry out self-rewarding behaviors?

The implication of willing ourselves to success affects every aspect of our life. Some of us desire to lose weight, change jobs, exercise, make new frien5B4ds, or learn new skills, but create resistance affecting our chances for a positive outcome. Why do we choose the road of self-defeating behavior even though we know that a different course of action will bring us to our desired goals and a sense of fulfillment?

The will to act must be greater than the power to resist. In other words, the urge to accomplish a task or goal must create an inner momentum until its force becomes irresistible. For some, this means a mounting cascade of frustration and anger, or a sense of being fed-up with the status-quo. The constructive passion to achieve drowns out the inner voice of inertia. Often, people tell me that an inner voice keeps hounding them until the clamoring sounds of change are strong enough to break the impasse.

Often people will resist the road to change because of a pattern of prior failure. They might say, Ive tried that route and it didnt work. They may view the motivation to change as an either/or process. Either Im 100% successful or Im a total louse. They may overlook the subtle changes that are necessary to complete a task. Established goals may be unrealistic and set the stage for failure. An additional obstacle may pop up when one starts down the road of progress and faces a period of regression. The back-sliding may be viewed as a monumental setback rather than a part of the growth process and may lead one to completely give up on5B4 a new endeavor.

Those who are unmotivated tend to harbor self-blame. They will blame themselves for their inability to change or will chastise themselves for any behavioral setback. With a mind-set of victim-posturing, the unmotivated individual will say, Its no use; no matter how hard I try, I will always come up short; its just my nature. Self-blame becomes an excuse for not trying. The self-centered focus is on personal failure rather than the impetus to move forward in spite of failure.

Often people remain unmotivated because they fear success. Those who contemplate losing weight might say, What if I lost weight and start to look more attractive? How would that affect the way others view me? My friend might want to date me and I dont know if I am ready for that! The fear of success often keeps one tied to the safety-net of the past.

The foundation for willing oneself to success begins with the process of setting goals. An individual must start with identifying what he really wants and needs. must be reframed to reflect a positive way of perceiving events. A friend who was unhappy with her life once told me, I know that I am withdrawing from people and I believe that it is bad for me. What she really needed to say is, I need to feel connected to other people; I want to find a way to make that happen. How we frame our thinking helps us to determine ways in which we will a5B4ct on them.

It is very difficult to move forward when you dont know where you are going. Setting realistic goals is essential to increasing our self-motivation. Goals need to be identified and chunked down into smaller steps. This makes getting motivated less overwhelming and easier to manage.

Giving yourself permission is an important ingredient to creating motivation. Often, people lack a sense of inner permission because they have relied on others to lead their lives. The fact that they have depended on others to direct their life makes them feel incompetent and thwarts forward-moving change.

Fully functioning people dont wait, they dont procrastinate, but they act. Life is too short. The fear of passing time may give us a sense of urgency about changing our life and making things right. Such a feeling of urgency may create the conditions necessary for changing the quality of our character and behavior. We dont have forever to will ourselves to success. Today is the day to redeem that which we have put on hold.

Building Great Soulmate Relationships

Building great soulmate relationships in life takes time and commitment. If you choose to spend time and you choose to commit you WILL most certainly build a relationship that will bring you joy and contentment. Some keys to building great relationships include:

Connect with the one that you love
Make time to remind your soulmate that they are special. Write them a note, send an email, sms or phone them during the day at work. Do something that you know will be meaningful to your partner. Make sure your efforts dont go to waste; connect with them keeping their love language in mind. Be intentional about making a daily connection in the middle of your busy life.

Plan your time
The old saying fail to plan and you will plan to fail is so true when it comes to soulmate relationships. Planning your time is of utmost importance in building great soulmate relationships. The average couple is so busy with work, catching up with friends and other responsibilities that sometimes in an established relationship you can fail to plan to spend time together. Check your calendars each week and make note of time when you will be together. Be intentional about spending casual social time together and also about spending quality time building into your soulmate relationship. A regular date night is a great idea.

Be protective of your soulmate relationship
At times healthy jealousy is a must in relationships. If you are not going to protect your soulmate relationship, who will? Dont allow yourself to be in situations that compromise the integrity of your relationship with your partner. Always remember that soulmate relationships can last forever- make sure that the emotional needs of your partner are being met. Dont take each other for granted. Your relationship is important.

Dont forget the special occasions!
Use your diary or the reminder function in your mobile phone; make a note of birthdays, anniversaries and special events. Talk about important events and make sure that both partners expectations are equal. Unnecessary tension can result in a relationship due to unmet expectations. If you would like to go away for your anniversary make sure that your partner knows! They are not mind readers. It may seem to take the spontaneity and romance out of it all but in the long run your soulmate relationship will be stronger as a result of discussing such issues.

Introduce surprise to your relationship
Assuming your partner likes surprises, and you have time, there are many ways you can surprise them. Organise with their boss that they will take an extended lunch break and take them out to lunch, send flowers, a card, chocolates- the options are endless and can really add spice to your life together. Interrupt the mundane with a surprise and youll be amazed at what it does for your soulmate relationship.

Get away with your friends
If you are in a steady relationship make sure that you havent become exclusive with your partner and in the process lost all of your friends! This is a common mistake that couples make when entering into a relationship. At the start everything is new and very exciting and before you know it you have neglected the old friend that you have had since high school. Friendships are important and it is healthy to have mutual friends and for each person to have their own friends in a relationship. It brings diversity and spending time apart only makes the heart grow fonder!

Become a student of your partner
If you are in a relationship you need to become a full-time student of your partner. Make it your mission to learn everything there is to know about them. Their likes, dislikes, strengths, weaknesses, how they relate to others, how they feel most loved. When you take the focus off yourself and your needs and focus on your partner you will discover that you are in the process of building a great relationship. As you focus on your partner they will become more focused on you- it is always better to give than to receive!

Are You Ready To Be More Confident

Do you realize that lack of confidence in yourself limits every aspect of your life? You have held yourself back in your job, in your relationships and even kept your inner power stamped down. Sometimes it really is a simple matter of changing how you see yourself. Negative thoughts about yourself come from a lifetime of practice in some cases. Everyone has painful experiences that come along with negative reinforcement. It is possible to create a more positive image of yourself and be more confident in every part of your life.

Here are some simple ways to start allowing more positive energy into your life.

1) Simply seeing yourself as an unfinished work is a good place to start. If you were done growing, there would be no more need to learn. It is a fact of life that there is always someone who is more intelligent, more courageous, and better in some manner. If you are trying to 16C1measure up to the impossible, it is time to readjust your thinking. Set an affirmation that you will only get better every day. You may be unfinished in many ways, but every part of you is worthy of respect, especially from you.

2) Act the way you want things to be even if they are not yet real. This is the old "fake it til you make it" method. This really does work if you give it a little time and put the energy into it. Pretending something is true affects the way your mind works. This is not a long term solution, but it can give you a kick start in building your confidence. The next time you have to attend one of those boring company lunches, act as if you are the most self-confident person there. Think about how a person who really is ultra confident would act in that situation. Attitude has a lot to do with feeling confident.

3) Make a list of all of your good qualities. You have more than you realize or are willing to acknowledge. Acting confident is a good start but you need to get at the root of why you have a negative image of yourself so you can start building a lasting change in your attitude. Take stock of the good things you have done in your life and what you have accomplished. The list will be longer than you think right now. Start talking nicer to yourself and appreciate your skills and talents. You may not be perfect (who is?) but you are not as bad as you think.

These are things that will continue for your whole life. No one ever gets finished with learning and growing. Learn to appreciate the you that is new every day.

Reality-Building 201 - What 3 Actions Can You Take Now to Be Successful?

Have you ever seen someone who constantly struggles? Not just financially, but emotionally, and sometimes physically. Nothing ever goes right in their life. Just ask them; they'll tell you.

If you could look inside this person's head, you'd probably see a mess of self-doubt and vague wishes. They might not even realize that this is the life they created, but if you could go back 6 to 12 months in the past and look at their thoughts, you would see that's exactly what they've done.

As a network marketer, there are many actions you must take to create the reality you choose. Most of these are not easy, but if you can make them into habits, your success as a network marketer is almost guaranteed.

One such action is thinking for yourself. Thinking for yourself means asking questions. Doing things the way you always did means you'll get the same results you've always gotten. Asking questions can signify a departure from old ways that no longer serve their purpose.

Without questioning, you become a robot. You do things just because others tell you to do them. You endure because others say you should. You don't ask yourself, "Is the pain worth the prize?" You never find out if there's a better way to accomplish your goals.

Thinking for yourself also means to always place experience over authority. Nobody, regardless of what they say, can claim to be the ultimate network marketing authority. This is not to say you shouldn't listen to your upline. If you hand out 1,000 flyers, however, and get one call back, don't you think you could spend that time more productively?

When you think for yourself, you must understand people. Your upline might be from a generation where it was OK to approach people in a parking lot to present your business. Maybe they were even successful doing it that way. They're not trying to mislead you, just to teach you the business the way they learned.

Thinking for yourself is not, by any means, the easiest way to do things, but it is always the best. Anyone can follow the crowd and obtain mediocre results. Leaders constantly question their actions, asking themselves if there might be a better way to do things.

We can choose our own thoughts. Regardless of what happens to us on the outside, we control what goes on in our minds. We can choose to be a drone and follow what everyone else is doing, or we can use our minds to break away from the pack and achieve our goals.

As network marketers, we must keep in mind that we are where we are today because of our thoughts. If you find yourself lacking today, go back and examine what your thoughts were yesterday, last month, 6 months ago. Your reality always corresponds with your thoughts.

Because of this, it's vitally important to think constructively. Successful network marketers don't waste time or energy focusing on what might go wrong. They seldom mull over unpleasant encounters, or hold grudges. They constantly ask themselves, "How can I make things better than they are right now?"

If you really want to create you own reality, it's extremely important to know what that reality consists of. What does success mean to you? How will you know when you're there? To know your outcome is one of the most important aspects of creating the life you choose.

This needs to be more than just a vague dream. Just wishing for a big house or a bunch of free time is not enough. A big house to you might not be a big house to Michael Jackson, and people in prison have lots of free time.

This is where goals come into play. Notice I didn't say wishes. Goals imply something needs to be done to achieve an end. Effective goals are specific, never open-ended. You need to have a vivid picture in your mind of where you are going. Without that, how can you get there, and how would you know if you did?

You accomplish goals by working backwards. Say you want $500,000.00 a year in residual income. Breaking that down, ask yourself how much you would need to make in 1 year. What would you need to be doing during that year to achieve that? What would you need to do for the next 6 months? 1 month?

What would you need to do today, right now, to achieve that goal? If you can remember to keep the end in sight, your smaller goals will be easier to accomplish. Never forget why you're prospecting.

The thoughts you think lead you to the actions you take. The actions you take regularly become habits. If you can develop enough constructive habits, no force in the world can stop you from achieving your dreams.

Herb Increases Human Growth Hormone Production

Mucuna pruriens is a tropical legume. The plant is an annual, climbing shrub with long vines. Mucuna pruriens seed powder contains high concentrations of levodopa, a precursor of the neurotransmitter dopamine and has long been used in traditional Indian medicine for diseases including parkinsonism. Another benefit of Mucuna is that it can increase the production of human growth hoA98rmone.

As it's name is telling us human growth hormone helps body to grow, it helps build muscles and increase streght. Taking synthetic HGH is very expesive at this moment. Many scientific researches are made to prove role of HGH. Some researches show that it helps people to become younger.

Nutritional analysis reveals mucuna pruriens contains crude protein ranged from 20-29 %, crude lipid 6-7%, total dietary fiber 8-10%, ash 3% and carbohydrates 50-60%. Several other compounds are found, including alkaloids.

Human growth hormone (hgh) or somatotropin (STH) is a protein hormone which stimulates growth and cell reproduction in humans and other animals. It is a 191-amino acid, single chain polypeptide hormone which is synthesized, stored, and secreted by the somatotroph cells within the lateral wings of the anterior pituitary gland.

This article describes growth hormone physiology, with brief mentions of the diseases of GH deficiency, GH excess (acromegaly and pituitary gigantism), as well as GH treatment. For information on a common growth hormone sometimes given to cows, see bovine somatotropin. Hgh is produces by pituitary gland it is located in the center of the brain. Effects of growth hormone on the tissues of the body can generally be described as anabolic (building up). Like most other protein hormones GH acts by interacting with a specific receptor on the surface of cells.

Height growth in childhood is the best known effect of GH action, and appears to be stimulated by at least two mechanisms.

1. GH directly stimulates division and multiplication of chondrocytes of cartilage. These are the primary cells in the growing ends (epiphyses) of children's long bones (arms, legs, digits).

2. GH also stimulates production of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1, formerly known as somatomedin C), a hormone homologous to proinsulin.

The pituitary gland, or hypophysis, is an endocrine gland about the size of a pea that sits in a small, bony cavity covered by a dural fold the base of the brain. The pituitary fossa, in which the pituitary gland sits, is situated in the sphenoid bone in the middle cranial fossa at the base of the brain.

Build Up Your Self-Esteem, Don't Allow Others To Put You Down

Feeling lousy about oneself is part and puzzle to some people who have low self-esteem. But if you dwell on negative feelings regularly, then you may be experiencing low self-esteem. Such a person dwells in self-doubt, guilt, anger and embarrassment. A person suffering from low self-esteem criticizes himself and passes comments like, I should not have, why do I act so stupidly? etc. There are some school of thought that says, if you keep thinking along the lines of I am stupid all the time, then your mind would tend to prove yourself right by making you act in such a way.

We are all different by nature. No one person is exactly the same as the other. If you focus on being low in esteem then you would have difficulty in making or keeping friends. If being easily discouraged, and moody is part of your routine, this may put down those around you and you may also have a difficult time in solving your own problems. You may even have the fear of new opportunities in life or move on into your future. If you ask, can I not get out of this pattern? the answer is a definite yes, you can.

Try not to base your understanding about yourself by other peoples opinion about you. Human beings tend to be opinionated, and if we live our lives depending on other peoples opinion about us, we will be hurt most of the time.

This is one main reason why some have a good self-esteem and others lack the same.

Here we give you a few tips that would help boost your self-esteem:

1 Learn to love yourself. Self-esteem is developed only by self-love. The self-love is not being selfish or self-centred but is the ability to appreciate oneself, being able to look at your own flaws and laugh over it sometimes and move on.

2.Self-complement works like a magic. Just look into the mirror and tell yourself that you are pretty looking or you are nice or any other nice statement about yourself. That works wonders!

3.Dress up but not over dress to kill but make yourself look prettier or smarter. You could get a haircut, buy a new dress or do whatever that will make you feel like a new person, and thus giving yourself more confidence.

4.Make yourself physically fit and trim. This will improve your poise and presence. Keeping fit will also help you to be more positive and less tire.

5.Make a list of all your positive qualities and know that you are unique and there is not another carbon copy like you.

6.Plan to do at least one good deed a day. This will make you see your generosity and kindness thus bring happiness to others and yourself too.

7.Travel to new places and meet new people. You may discover that many people out there do not know themselves.

8.Pay compliments to a stranger but not flatter, be genuine in your compliments and see how happy he or she feels. In return this will make you feel better.

9.More importantly, stay away from those who insult you or put you down. Be among those who are positive and yet genuine about caring for each other. Treat others like you want to be treated.

Always remember that no one born perfect and that should make you realize that you are not a worthless person. So try to see the truth and believe that you are unique in your own way. So no one is perfect enough to put you down or hurt your self-esteem unless you allow them.

Don't Always Believe What You're Told - Even When it's Reported in the New York Times

Don't always believe what you're told. Don't always believe conventional wisdom. And don't always believe what you read in the paper - not even in the venerated New York Times.

According to a recently aired, soul wrenching documentary, entitled "The Lobotomist", The New York Times once hailed pre-frontal lobotomy as "surgery of the soul". This was a period of time when the medical establishment viewed severing the frontal lobe of the brain from the thalamus as a groundbreaking treatment for those with agitated depression, dementia, psychosis and other problematic symptoms.

As with many things that turn sour, Dr. Walter Freeman, who became a celebrity physician due to his miracle cure, started operating with good intentions. With no treatments to calm agitated patients in state hospitals, lobotomies promised hope to those who were most distressed. And the operation did indeed help alleviate their distress.

But at what cost?

That's the question we must always ask ourselves when advocating new medical treatments - particularly those that are irreversible or may have negative effects on our brain chemistry that may not be revealed till years later.

Though nobody today advocates for prefrontal lobotomy, it's important to remember that at its prime, it was hailed as a great advance.

Its reputation was so exalted that in 1941, the parents of JFK took their mildly retarded 23-year-old daughter to Dr. Freeman for a lobotomy that would5B4 "calm her mood swings". The results were devastating. A spirited, rebellious young woman became so mentally incapacitated that she required institutionalization for the rest of her life.

Did that tragedy create an end to the procedure? Not at all. It wasn't until 26 years later that prefrontal lobotomies were jettisoned. The primary reason: the beginnings of psychotropic drugs to treat emotional distress.

If you think that the story of prefrontal lobotomy is an anomaly, you would be mistaken. Numerous medical procedures and medications originally hailed as "miraculous" were vilified years later.

Two examples:

When heroin was first brought to market in 1898, it was considered to be a miraculous cure for morphine addiction. Over time, it also came to be seen as a drug for treating other ailments, such as coughs, bronchitis, asthma, and tuberculosis. For more than 14 years, heroin's sedative qualities were promoted while its addictive qualities were downplayed.

A similar story is true for cocaine which had its own celebrity physician advocating it. None other than Sigmund Freud was a frequent cocaine user, believing it to be a wonder cure for neurotic symptoms - including his own.

So, what's a person to do? Be a disbeliever in medicine and medication? Absolutely not! Yet, developing a healthy dose of skepticism and sound judgment is a good idea. Here's why:

Many medications, which may be helpful f5B4or one ailment or one segment of the population, are quickly prescribed for other ailments and other populations without sufficient testing.

Here are a few current examples:

Statins are routinely prescribed not only for those who have heart disease but also for those whose cholesterol numbers are high, yet show no sign of heart disease. Research, recently reported in Business Week, suggests that this is overkill. Side effects of statins are minimized while efficacy is blown out of proportion.

Gastric bypass surgery is now being talked about as a radical procedure not only for the morbidly obese but also as one that could be promoted as a treatment for the obese who are at risk for developing diabetes.

Six million children in this country are being treated with psychotropic medication despite the fact that no research studies have been done on the long term side effects for children who use these drugs.

And perhaps, what's most disturbing of all is our increasing reliance on medication and operations to treat behavioral and emotional issues. What ever happened to the idea of putting in effort (with and without professional help) to gain control over harmful habits, noxious behaviors, over-the-top emotions and basic sleeping, eating and exercise patterns?

The Gift Of Loving Yourself First

Many loving, naturally-giving people experience an imbalance in their flow of giving and receiving. They give easily; it's receiving from others that's challenging. Unlike those who have difficulty considering others, this message is addressed to those who disregard considering themselves! Disregard for self can be rooted in such beliefs as: "It's selfish for me to be my number one priority." Or "I'm not worthy of receiving what I need and desire", "I'm not good enough" or "I'm not important enough". Others might believe that "To be a good person, I must sacrifice my own needs". I've also heard, "I'm a woman/man; I'm supposed to take care of others and be the nurturer". Do any of these thoughts ring true for you? And what's the real truth?

Although the following is a strong statement, pay attention to how its truth might resonate with you. When we don't love ourselves, we are unable to truly love another. Another way of saying this is how loving we feel toward ot5B4hers is connected to how loving we are of ourselves.

What I have seen is that when we give from a depleted place within ourselves, which is often the case when we don't truly receive, strings can be attached to our generosity. At times, we may actually be giving to others as an indirect way to get our own needs met instead of coming from a purely selfless place. We may need to feel important and valued. Because we're not valuing ourselves, others in our world and our life as a whole may be reflecting that back to us in subtle and not so subtle ways.

Here are some clues to help identify if this describes you:

  • Do you strongly react when your needs are ignored even though you realize that you didn't clearly ask for what you want?
  • Do you sometimes wonder in those moments of self-honesty - when is it going to be my turn?
  • Are there times that you feel overwhelmed from giving?
  • Does your body sometimes shout either through a tight jaw or a tense gut that you've had enough?
  • Do you often feel hurt or defensive with the people who love you?
  • How much pressure is there on those who love you to show you that you are indeed loved?
  • Do the important people in your life need to reassure you of their love on an almost day-to-day basis because you can forget?

It's all about receiving, and it has to begin with us. I th5B4ink back to my experience of being in a counseling group years ago when there was much emphasis on giving one another 'strokes', units of recognition. In this case, the recognition was very focused on the positive. Even though I received so much loving feedback, I realized that I wasn't able to receive it. What I found myself doing was dismissing their words because I didn't really believe them, or I compared what someone else received as a way to take away from my own feedback. I noticed that I started to grow even more dependent on others love, giving them the power to define me. And, of course, as is natural to the human way, sometimes I was wonderful to them; and sometimes I wasn't because I didn't please or say the right thing. What I experienced is how easy it is to get into the habit of looking to others to get one's needs met. What I now know for sure is that it's a trap that can take us away from ourselves. THE essential ingredient to deeply receiving is to be self-loving.

I have learned that when I don't feel loving, loved or connected to others, I need to stop and give myself some loving attention. It's a barometer for me. With the help of my observer, that internal part of me that is able to come from objectivity, I recognize the cues. I then know that I need to sit with myself and reconnect to my own heart's openness and love...toward myself. It makes all the difference. I breathe deeply, I feel grounded, I see throug5B4h the eyes of love.

One way to address looking to others for love and needing the reassurance that you are loved is to stand in front of a mirror. Tell yourself while you look deeply into your eyes: "I love you. I'll always be here for you. You can feel safe and secure as I am at your side." Check inside of you and talk in a way that you notice the impact of your words at a body level. You relax. You feel grounded. Your heart opens. Then you know that you're deeply receiving the energy of love that you're giving to yourself. Begin your day with this ritual. Notice the impact on how you relate to others throughout the day.

You may have read about the above technique before...and haven't done it. Notice your resistance. I'm reminding you that it's time...right now...to put this simple and powerful technique into practice.

It is so much easier to make changes in your life when you're solidly there for yourself and have a strong internal support system. We look in the wrong places for love...out there, and it's so much an inside job. Begin with your relationship with you. Fall in love with yourself. Take the time to identify your strengths and place your loving focus there. You are worthy of this.

From this loving place, start to notice your impact. You will know how well you are doing in the arena of loving yourself first by what's reflected back to you in the eyes, words and behaviors of others.

Memory Improvement Through Self Hypnosis

Most people shudder when they hear the word 'hypnosis'. They relate the word to a situation where a hypnotist gets to make people, who are plucked from a show audience, to do all sorts of stupid things like clucking and strutting around like a chicken. Most people are quite afraid of the prospect of being under the control of another person and so they are reluctant to be hypnotized.

You can however control your own hypnosis and through self hypnosis you can help yourself in so many ways. For example self hypnosis can help you stop smoking, stop binge eating, can also help you control outbreaks of depression and it can also assist with your memory improvement.

Memory improvement through self hypnosis can be achieved by breaking down the mental blockages that are hindering you from adequately remembering things. First off you must master the art of self hypnosis. Then, once you are able to engage in self hypnosis you will be able to control a wide variety of problem areas and can go about correcting them (including your memory capabilities).

There are various DVDs, videos and audio tapes that are able to purchase that can guide you through the process of self hypnosis. They vary in content but generally they will give you a step by step instruction in the art of relaxation which is one of the keys to mastering self hypnosis. Once you are in a relaxed state you will then be able to direct your subcon5B4scious to improve your memory.

Take Yourself Into A State Of Total Relaxation

If you would like to trial the process before going out and buying DVDs or manuals on the subject here is a simple way to try self hypnosis. To start the process of memory improvement through self hypnosis, firstly you must close your eyes and relax your body completely. You should breathe deeply and methodically until your heart beat slows. If you are having trouble relaxing, why not imagine that you can control each and every part of your body. You tell each individual part of your body to relax beginning with your toes all the way to your head. Once you feel that you are in a relaxed state, count down backwards from twenty to zero. It helps to imagine you are standing at the top of a staircase and each time you count you see yourself walking down the staircase. By the time you reach zero and you have reached the bottom of the staircase you should be in a strong enough trance to begin working on your memory improvement through self hypnosis.

Commanding Yourself

You can begin to improve your memory by self hypnosis once you are in a completely relaxed and hypnotic state. All you really have to do is repeat to yourself that you want to improve your memory. You instruct your mind that whenever you hear or read something you will have no problem retrieving that information when you need to. You can also tell yourself that all of the block597ages you are experiencing which contribute to keeping you from remembering things will dissolve away. This is a great way to improve your memory and it really works

When you engage in self hypnosis and you begin speaking to yourself, you are speaking to your subconscious. This is how hypnotists are able to get you to do things you normally would not do because they are able to access your subconscious mind. For self hypnosis to be most effective you must truly believe that it is possible to use self hypnosis in a positive and helpful way and believe that it works. This belief and acceptance are the most important steps in this entire process.

Once you master the art of self hypnosis and start to apply it on a regular basis you will begin to remember more than you ever imagined possible. So why not lie down, close your eyes, breathe rhythmically and begin your journey of memory improvement through self hypnosis now.

Self Adhesive Legal Exhibit Tabs - Stay Organized!

Convenient and Efficient

Having trouble keeping everything organized and looking professional? The answer to your problems might be self adhesive legal exhibit tabs. These little gems traditionally have been used for extensive legal exhibits, but they have a lot of applications around the office and potentially even at home.

Here are some ways in which self adhesive legal exhibit tabs can help you get organized in the legal context.

In The Courtroom

The number one use for legal exhibit tabs, of course, is within the courtroom. Exhibits often constitute i2238mportant evidence for either side in any trial, and having an organized defense or prosecution will help make any case.

The court room is no time to be fumbling around looking for a particular exhibit. Legal binders are typically made up ahead of time and well labeled in sections using full page dividers with tabs on them. Well prepared legal teams can have documents that, with dividers included for each section, become unmanageably thick. Self adhesive exhibit tabs help reduce the paper waste of the divider and save on overall thickness too. Best of all they are easily custom printed, they don't fall off, and they are less expensive. In addition, there is much less waste since dividers come in sets and it looks tacky using the bottom couple of dividers to start a new report.

Business Research or Presentations

Legal exhibit tabs don't need to be limited to only legal documents. They started with that application due to the volumes of court exhibit documents and briefs that needed indexing for easy reference.

A similar scenario in business occurs when large documents or collections of documents are assembled for working meetings or presentations. We've all been there, the documents are so extensive the organizers wheel them in with a hand truck and the table shakes when the pile is dropped on the table. Save paper and thickness by using self adhesive exhibit tabs to clearly mark important points in the documents and as the transition point between documents. Vendors have same day shipping so it is easy to get professionally labeled exhibit tabs quickly.

For trade shows or other marketing applications, using legal exhibit tabs to label and divide product information works very nicely and saves a lot of thickness and paper. This is especially true for organizing multiple product line spec sheets that are only a few pages each per product.

Get Organized Even at Home

Finally, consider the advantages of using self adhesive legal tabs at home. Do you have binders of pictures that you would like to quickly find those precious pictures from last year's vacation? Do you have piles of stock research on your desk, or piles of any type of papers that you can at least find what you are looking for later if it has a nice exhibit tab sticking out. Are you running a business out of your home and need to keep expense receipts and invoices organized, or just want to keep your own expenses organized for tax purposes? Use exhibit tabs on your binders to quickly find them when filing papers rather than throwing everything into a box.

So whether you are a legal professional presenting court exhibits with easy to find reference points, a business person getting organized to run a successful meeting, or just trying to get organized and save time and paper at home, add a new trick to your repertoire with professional looking self adhesive legal exhibit tabs.

In the court room Lindsey Malberg is a shark, and attributes some of her success to her superior organization using legal office supply and more available at Qwik Tab. Amazingly you can custom order Qwik Tabs for half the price of the traditional full sheet legal exhibit dividers and have them shipped that same day! Lindsey also loves the fact that these exhibit tabs are printed for only what you require, no need to buy full sets.

How to Successfully Implement a New Year's Resolution

The idea of celebrating the New Year began about four thousand years ago in ancient Babylon. This celebration coincided with the start of spring and the planting season. Babylon was also the birthplace of the New Years Resolution. The idea was to give people who had borrowed farm equipment from their neighbor a chance to remember what they had done and return it before planting began. Most of todays New Years Resolutions follow in that tradition. They are ideas, goals and challenges designed to make practical and positive changes to our lives during the coming year.

There is a school of thought that says most people either love or hate the holiday season between Thanksgiving and New Years, with no middle ground. Most people who take a definitive position on the Holidays probably also fall into the optimistic glass is half full or pessimistic glass is half empty measurement of personal outlook. Surprisingly, thats not a bad thing.

People who take a positive or negative position on life are great candidates for change. If youre lost in some desert or jungle, the hardest part of that experience is finding out where you are. If you already know where you are, mapping out the journey to somewhere else is much easier. The same is true in life.

Almost everyone chooses some positive change as a New Years Resolution. Such change usually involves weight loss, quitting smoking, attitude adjustment, moving to a more comfortable dwelling, getting a better job, finding a soul mate or making more money. People start thinking a lot about change as a New Year approaches. From a practical standpoint, this is probably the worst time to alter your life. From an emotional standpoint, its the one time of year when people are willing to put forth serious effort to change. It would be unwise to waste that kind of an opportunity, even if it means merely laying the groundwork for serious life modification.

Ill spare you the usual happy talk about goal setting and get down to the nitty gritty of what it takes to make any New Years Resolutions you have in mind come true. Im assuming that youve already given much thought to the changes you want to make. The most successful Resolutions involve issues that have been tugging at a person for some time. Theyve already considered the pros and cons are ready to take action.

The end result of any New Years Resolution should be personal growth in a positive direction. Given that, it might be wise to wait before calling the divorce attorney or telling off your Boss on January 2nd. What seems like a terrific idea during the Holidays may turn out to be a real nightmare in the emotional doldrums that often follow the glittery holiday season. Some changes are better left to times when cooler heads prevail and less alcohol is consumed.

If youre ready to move your life in a positive direction, you will have to create a good support structure to complete the change. People who want to lose weight, quit smoking, drinking or some other habit can really benefit from having others around who are trying to do the same thing. Beyond the paid weight loss, quit smoking and addictive substance services, there are a number of free support groups and non-profit organizations willing to help. Most people who try to lose weight or quit a habit without a support structure tend to fail. In many cases, inspiration can also come from within. The idea is to make a conscious decision to change and follow through with a strong force of will. Its the follow through part that gets most of us. Thats because were unwilling to actually take the plunge when we have the chance to do so.

There is no substitute fo5B4r action. Positive thinking is good, goal setting helps, but action rules! That means making time to act on the changes you wish to make in your life and following through. Write down a long list of things required to make changes. Consider each item, and then turn your long list into a short list. Make your list very personal. While people can help you by providing support, its imperative that you become the main source of inspiration and support for change in your life.

Part of creating a short list is being realistic. Make sure its a daily, not long-term list. Its always easiest to focus in on and accomplish small tasks on a daily basis that will help you create the kind of change you desire in your life. While long-term goals are always beneficial, short-term tasks are usually required to reach them. The idea is not to overwhelm yourself with unrealistic expectations and impossible deadlines. Take it one-step at a time.

If you want to lose 100 pounds, start by deciding to eat just one meal each day. Be sure that meal is in the morning and, based on your own metabolism, doesnt exceed your bodys ability to process what you intake and still burn off fat. Diet programs tend to be designed for people who can eat three or more small meals a day and still lose weight. Most people who are seriously overweight do not fall into that category. For them, a slice of low fat lunchmeat, a couple of tomato slices and one5B4 slice of bread with low fat margarine or mayonnaise are about all that can be eaten most days in order to lose the weight. Hunger pains can often be handled by drinking black coffee or low calorie beverages. The idea is to lower the hunger threshold, rather then eating to feed the fat.

Any change requires progressive implementation. A person who is seriously overweight cannot really get the exercise they need until after losing enough pounds to make that kind of bodily strain safe. Smokers are in the same boat. They need to cut down on smoking until reaching a point where they have the breath needed to take long walks, jog or do other exercises designed to clear out their lungs and help satisfy cravings.

People who want to further their education and havent been to school for a while might want to seriously assess their ability to return to the culture of education before they leap in. Being technically perceptive and able to study is part of that preparation. If you havent yet mastered simple computer or internet skills, take on that challenge before you do anything else. Email has become an important part of the student and teacher communication process. Assignments and class information is often communicated to students via internet. Your ability to study and complete assignments will require time. Have you set aside that time? What about your reading and comprehensive skills?

If a new job or career is on you5B4r New Years Resolution list, but sure your ready to take the leap. Get your resume and letters of recommendation in order. Assemble some good Resume Stuffers. These are certificates of training or achievement, which always look good to perspective employers. They tell a future employer that you are willing to learn, grow and improve your skills. Most require little more then attending a seminar or short series of classes. Without those items, youre telling a prospective boss that you know everything you want to know and are unwilling to learn more. You are saying that you will not easily accept new situations, methods or supervision. That is not what most employers want to hear.

Relationship changes are hard. Most involve one party telling the other to get lost. No one is going to take that news very well. Its also true that the person delivering that ultimatum may not always realize the full ramifications of it. Relationship changes can seriously affect us on social, religious and personal levels. People often decide to opt out of a relationship for all the wrong reasons and without good cause.

Before you tear up those photos of you and your intimate partner on that skiing trip or posing with the Knights at Medieval Times, make sure that you are physically, emotionally and socially ready for such a drastic change. I regularly receive emails from people who end up back in relationships, for better or worse, because 5B4they had not considered their next move before walking out. Things sometimes get bitter between people, but thats not always a good reason to break up.

Any good relationship involves work. Both parties have to be willing to give and take as those opportunities present themselves. If you are unwilling to work at a relationship, stay out of them altogether. There is simply no magical formula to create the perfect love affair. Everyone has faults and, eventually, those faults will make themselves known in a loud and clear way. Love often means being willing to accept those faults in lieu of a good relationship with long-term promise.

Part of making a successful change to your life is understanding the concept of self-esteem. People with low self-esteem rarely admit they are wrong. They make decisions and assign blame based on self-gratification and emotional highs or lows. People with high self-esteem are able to look themselves in the mirror and make a rational assessment of whats right and wrong with their life. How is your self-esteem?

The first step to good self-esteem is understanding that you are the one responsible for everything you think, feel and do. If you smoke, its a choice you made even if your parents had a six-pack a day habit. If youre overweight, its up to you to assess your ability to process food and eat accordingly, even if both your parents and all your relatives are overweight. If you46Br partner makes you feel bad, youre the one who allows them to influence you in a negative or positive way.

Developing good self-esteem is vital to making positive changes in your life. Part of that development is deciding where you stand on important life choices. Are you honest? Are you sincere? What do others say about you? Do you inspire people? Whether we like it or not, these are all considerations that affect our self-esteem.

In the end, making and following through with a New Years Resolution means having the desire and strength of will to make good choices that will cause a positive change in your life, without causing undue pain to others. Those choices must be based on good self-esteem, an ethical sense of doing whats right and moving forward in a personal, financial and spiritual sense.

Give Yourself Permission to be Successful

Do you lack self-belief? Does it stop you from achieving what you want to have and do and your want in life? Well you are not alone! But how can you start to break the chains and really live again?

Enter self-belief into Google and it seems inevitable that the major search results will involve someones story of how they changed their life from one of under-achieving and procrastination due to a lack of self-belief. Big deal I say! Who cares!? You only care about you. You may have tried to break the chains of having low self-esteem which also pretty much inevitably goes hand in hand with a lack of self-belief.

Having a lack of self-belief and of self-esteem is simply crippling to th562e personal growth, self actualisation and self-fulfilment of anyone. We humans experience change all the time in life, its situations, challenges and constant changes within ourselves too. We are literally living in a different world from one day to the next in a body and mind and emotional and psychic state that is constantly changing. Often its difficult to keep up!

With the rush of modern living, we lose touch with ourselves to the degree that we do not have a clue who we really are. We end up attaching so many externally based labels to ourselves of what we are, what we do, our definition of ourselves, and most of all, our definition of what we can and cant do!

Most of us know about those childhood experiences that have so shaped the way we are today. We can do our own psychoanalysis thanks very much. We know ourselves better than anyone, right? We may count ourselves lucky or unlucky depending on how our childhood experiences shaped us and our present life. But we probably do not know ourselves at all!

So how much of how we see ourselves is from the past based on our perceptions of what happened to us, how it affected us and how we feel about it all? But our perceptions are fallible and our ability to process scenes, events, emotions can be changeable, to say the least. Even the way we map faces in our brains can be decei5A8ved by our perception of reality. Even green plants are not green but thats what our brain tells us! (Thats the colour wavelength reflected off the plant but is not the plant colour itself!)

The brain is limited by the way it works. Not only this, but everyone is wired-up differently so to speak. Ask a policeman what opinion he has of the publics ability to describe details of an incident. It will not be that high probably with vast discrepancies between different peoples accounts. There are still areas of our brains and aspects of our minds about which we know as little about as the deep unexplored oceans and the outer reaches of space, and these are constantly throwing scientific dogma into turmoil.

We usually do not even remember an event 24 hours ago, or 2 hours ago, or even a minute ago. So how can we really trust and believe our self-belief about ourselves, which may be based on memories from times before our brains have even been fully formed? Thats just plain crazy!

Our reference points are simply not accurate. If we add all our fears into the equation, then realise that most of our fears come from the fear of something happening but probably never has and never will. Not only this, but if we were growing and stretching as human beings according to our natural ability to do so, dealing with these fears if they did happen would be so much less of a trauma 5B4as our capability to deal with them would be so much greater!

I meet so many people every day and this relates to the majority of people I meet, who I would term as emotionally and psychologically closed down often to great degrees, even though operating as average people you would meet on the street. They may have jobs and families and busy lives, but they are in effect sleep walking through life. Mostly these people know in intricate detail what they do and what they have, but how many of them truly know who they are, what they truly want in life, and the honest reasons why? Virtually none of them!

Most people are living in the past every day of their lives and therefore are not living in reality moment by moment. Having created a false world view of reality based on opinions, false impressions, misinterpretations, lies they have been told or incorrect information they have been fed. It is like we all live in a dream of our own making, good or bad. Our minds do not represent a true map of our external reality at all and can be easily fooled.

That is why it such a shame that so many of us live our lives according to our false limiting beliefs we have created. We are all growing, but unless we realise it and explore it regular, how can we exploit these changes and assimilate them into our new belief systems and act out a new internal reality accordingly?

Sure, emotional scars can really ru5B4n so deep they are not 'cured' by methods we presently know. But many can be healed by numerous means and our own bodies and minds especially are the greatest healers of them all! So you may suffer from a lack of confidence in situations where past feelings of pain, fear or inadequacy raise your heart beat. But each time you watch television or read a book, you may wander how it is you can zone out and ignore completely what is going on around you. Thats the power of your mind. It can work for you to protect you as it should or against you because it is still protecting you in situations that are no longer a genuine threat to you.

These mind traps sabotage your life every moment you are not aware of them happening, where your mind is now working against you.

Now I am no expert on self confidence and how to achieve it, but I can tell you I was rejected at birth and adopted as a one year old by a family in which I did not live and perform up to their expectations. However, I am not living my life, like so many sleep walkers do, trying to achieve in life exactly what my parents expectations of me were.

So many people live their lives trying to get love where it will not come from truly unconditionally. Many people never acknowledge their true selves their whole lives, not allowing themselves the personal integrity to be true to their own dreams which rarely are the same as their parents anyway. Sur5B4e mind traps are like walls that have to be dismantled brick by brick. But it helps to get a big breakthrough once in a while by challenging your own beliefs and taking risks in new situations in life. Once a big false self-belief starts crumbling it can effect many others like dominoes falling.

I think most people live their lives rather like you might try to bend a spoon like the infamous Uri Geller. The vast majority of people will focus all their energy on the spoon, trying to change it with all their might, their egos getting more and more frustrated the longer the spoon stays the same.

But is very interesting to note that many children are able to bend spoons like Uri Geller. We have no scientific explanation for this phenomenon at present. But the funny thing is that children appear to bend spoons with ease. Perhaps the key is not trying to change anything at all, but being in a relaxed and unattached state where we are truly in touch with ourselves. At a place where any negative self-beliefs and conditioning are not present as a barrier to natural processes we have yet to discover scientifically.

As our quantum physicists admit there is far more space between matter than previously thought possible. This sure is shaking their beliefs about the true nature of reality and of all the physical matter in it. If you let go of past set paradigms of thought and realise how shaky they are how many laws o5B4f science have had to be re-written in even the last 50 years, how much of our accepted beliefs of reality will be different in another 100? Im certain we will be shocked beyond belief. Like many big changes to our belief system, there will be shock.

As someone of limited self-belief and of very changeable self-esteem, I can say this. I do get very sensitised by various experiences which feel risky. They may make me feel extremely vulnerable. Some give me a feeling of great strength afterwards. Some leave my nerves jangled. It seems crucial not to over-stretch when exploring and developing yourself on purpose. Taking baby steps is the key.

Ive tried big risks and big steps, and they can leave you on highs that take you out of practical everyday reality and can undermine your confidence very detrimentally if you take risks you are not ready to handle when they do not work out as you had hoped. As Zig Ziglar said Youve got to be before you can have.

Life is full of fears, pain and trauma that is completely illusory. When you meet new people, their impressions of you are not true. Their opinions of you are often based on the tiniest of scraps of information. It is not personal because they do not truly know you. I think it is such a waste and shame that people often just judge people on first appearances. This is completely insane.

How many of you have felt that peer pressure of havi142ng to fit in by buying that outfit, car, house, or even getting that husband, or girlfriend. That is not living. It is living second hand to appease and fulfil the clouded desires of others. Why live your life for other people when your true happiness comes from the love of doing what you need to grow for yourself.5B4 Sure this may mean serving other people in many different ways but you will feel the freedom and feeling of positive energy as you burst through one false inner shell after another.

Helping others is self-growth in action. And positive action is the key. Princess Dianna ways painfully shy and yet she was able to face strangers, massive crowds of admirers and even manipulate the media. Her solution was simple. When with people, focus on them instead of on yourself!

The big lesson for me about my past is that life is not about finding my past or my roots, hoping to find there the thing to ease the pain of my past. I do not think you find yourself in the way many think. I think you make yourself and in doing so you discover and remember your true self along the way. The past is gone and can never happen again quite the same way. The truth is, we give ourselves the permission we need to have the things we need and want, and sometimes we can give those things to ourselves and the most important of them all is unconditional self-love. Whether you believe in love as an eternal spiritual power is irrelevant. We all die inside without it...

Even if you are made to look stupid in front of millions on a television 'reality show', who cares? If you do it for personal growth and it strengthens you and makes you more secure in yourself you will secretly be envied for doing it. Anyone can laugh at someone but could they walk in that519 person's shoes ?

Failure or defeat is subjective, so whatever happens in our lives has the potential to help us grow. Feedback is painful, but it does not have to stop you. As Bruce Lee said: Defeat is not defeat until accepted as defeat in your own mind. (And even a rubber band has to stretch before bouncing back...)

Teaching Yoga for Teen Stress Management

Teens will respond to a Yoga class, with their peers, above all other age groups. Unless they have a nurturing personality, teens are not usually a good fit in a kids Yoga class. Sometimes, after-school activities, in high schools or junior high schools, will have Yoga as a choice. If there is no demand for teen Yoga classes in your area, adult classes will be the next best thing.

Over the years, it has been observed that concerned parents are puzzled by the sudden lack of communication with teens at home. This is usually a critical point in human life, as teens look over the horizon, toward adulthood. Suddenly, the "happy go lucky" attitude changes to a serious drone.

Many parents feel as if their teen has become a stranger. What can parents do to help their teens? One solution is to find joint activities, for parents and children, long before they become teens. This reinforces bonds during critical points in the lives of both parent and child.

Yoga is one such activity, but there are many more. Some families go hiking, skiing, biking, or participate in a variety of sports, together. There is no limit to the number of activities, but parents should make a concerted effort to resist the role of a demanding coach. 5B0 Turning a fun activity, into a pressure situation, is one sure way to force someone to drop out of it.

This is why Yoga is such a nice fit for the parent / child relationship. If you throw competition out the window, Yoga is an individual learning process. The rewards of a family practice are good health and re-establishing family ties.

Predictions for Yoga in 2008

As we begin the New Year, it's time once again to follow in Nostradamus's footsteps and play the game we've been playing for centuries: predicting what the future will hold. This year I'm taking a stab at yoga predictions-forecasting what's going to happen in this field for 2008 and beyond.

My predictions don't come from staring into a crystal ball or reading organic tea leaves. I came to these conclusions after reading and researching industry data, interviewing industry experts-including Ila Sarley, president of Kripalu Center, and John Kepner, executive director of the International Association of Yoga Therapists-and observing from my viewpoint as both a yoga teacher and a consultant in the wellness industry.

As you read my forecasts, see if they ring true for you. If yes, consider if and how you are positioning your business in response to what the future may bring.

1. Yoga's cup will overflow as growth continues. More teachers becoming certified and more venues offering yoga equals more competition between teachers and studios. In response to yoga's increasing availability and the wide variety of yoga options, consolidation and specialization will occur, with big players getting bigger and solo practitioners cultivating specialized niches.

2. You'll need to stand out to stay in. The yoga professionals who differentiate themselves with an approach or style that stands out will have a distinct advantage. While ten years ago people asked, "What is yoga?," the question now is "How is this yoga different from all other yogas?"

3. Yoga will be on the move. Yoga will continue to migrate into new territory beyond the standard studio or gym. Think yoga at your desk, for specific populations, or at out-of-the-box locations.

4. Yoga will step out of the waiting room and into the doctor's office. Yoga will continue to make headway in the health-care establishment as it becomes more and more widely accepted as a complementary alternative medicine. As this migration occurs, more structure will be needed, including peer-reviewed research studies to measure the efficiency for standardized protocols of yoga care.

5. Yoga will take up permanent residence on Madison Avenue. Companies looking to associate their products or services with a wellness lifestyle-even if it has nothing to do with wellness-will turn to yoga imagery. A sexy yogini sipping a glass of wine while sitting in lotus position on the hood of a car is not out of the question.

6. Asia will be the next growth market for yoga. More teachers will answer the call to bring yoga to Hong Kong, and you'll see more Asians attending yoga conferences and teacher trai5B4ning programs in the United States.

7. You'll want to think lifestyle, not just asana. Yoga's growth is part of a bigger wellness trend. Those who want to capitalize on this broader trend will add more ancillary services-such as nutritional programs, exercise routines, spa services, and wellness consultations-to their yoga offerings.

8. You'll see more yoga in cyberspace. Convenience is always an advantage in our busy lives. That's why yoga is moving out of the studio (see prediction number three) and that's why you'll see more options in the coming year for virtual yoga classes online.

9. Next-level training services for yoga and wellness professionals will be on the rise. With the overall growth of the wellness industry, new training programs to support practitioners will be in demand, including advanced professional development and business training.

10. Yoga will continue to touch and transform your life and the lives of your students in 2008. Happy New Year!

Building Muscles as a Woman and Flirting - Does it Make Sense?

Both men and women can experience the advantages and the satisfaction of building muscles. It's an activity that helps you get fit, feel good and perform better. Yet as a woman, there is a biological difference that is worth mentioning, whatever your decision about making body-building a serious activity. It's a difference that may be relevant to you according to how you see things and how you want to define your attractiveness.

Way back in time and following the mysteries of evolution, men and women followed different biological paths. In particular, men found women attractive according to things like the curve in their back (dead straight backs do not rate so well with men) as well as other physical attributes. On the other hand, women whilst still appreciating a man's good looks attached less importance to physical aspects and more to the degree of confidence that the man displayed. You can find information on the subject in the book "Why Men Don't Listen And Women Can't Read Maps" by Allan and Barbara Pease. It's great fun to read and after the tongue-in-cheek title, you may well find yourself nodding in agreement with many of the points they discuss.

In the context of body building, a man's bulging muscles therefore may mean less to a woman than the self-confidence that he has acquired via his body building. On the other hand, a man may start to lose interest in a woman when he sees soft curves disappearing and harder, more defined muscle groups making their appearance. This is not to say that this is always the case or that one way of appreciating the opposite sex is better than the other. Not to mention those who are attracted by the same sex and may see things differently yet again.

Whatever the case, if you are a woman and you would like to continue to exercise your attractiveness in terms of "natural" curves, you can at least now plan your bodybuilding and muscle gain in such a way as to have the best of all worlds.

Appreciating Health and Fitness

Practically everyone wants to be fit and feel good. Getting there however is sometimes incredibly difficult for some. It is important to understand just how important a healthy body is to your overall state of mind as well as your physical health.

One of the major problems affecting the United States as well as the rest of the world is a burgeoning rate of obesity. The statistics show that obesity is on an incredible rise and may soon become the norm for the majority of people. This carries with it some serious health risks. Type II Diabetes has becoming increasingly common and other weight related health problems are skyrocketing as well.

It is easy to sit back and say that it won't happen to you or that you'll do something about it tomorrow. But the fact remains that obesity and ill health are a problem and it is vital to take the steps to correct it. Even if you are not suffering from any weight problems, you may not be as healthy as you think. Poor diets and lack of exercise lead to increased cholesterol levels, high blood pressure and a myriad of other silent issues that can sneak up on you.

What can you do to begin a healthy life5B4style today instead of tomorrow? Start by taking one day to catalog each and every single thing you eat or drink during that day. Also make a note of any exercise that you get during this time. At the end of the day, add up how many calories and fat you consumed. Chances are, the numbers will shock you.

The average woman needs between 1200 to 1800 calories per day. The average American woman typically consumes more than 2000 on any given day. Males need an average of 1800 to 2500, but once again, actual consumption rates are much higher. To put this into perspective, it takes 3500 additional calories to gain one pound. If you are eating more than 500 calories than you need each day, this translates into the gain of one pound a week.

Once you know how many calories you are consuming you can begin to craft a lifestyle plan that will help you get within your goals. Try cutting out sodas or drinks that contain empty calories. This is a great way to drop an extra five to ten pounds. Look at your exercise level and see how you can increase your activity slowly. Try walking instead of taking the elevator, or walking during your lunch hour.

Small changes are much easier to make and it makes it so much easier to start living a healthy life. Your body will have time to adjust and won't begin hoarding calories if you take this approach. Start small and generally increase your level of activity as the weeks go by. You'll be making4F1 steady progress towards achieving a healthy body in no time at all and the best part is, you'll feel great doing it.

15 Muscle Building Rules for Skinny Guys and Gals!

WHY CAN'T YOU GAIN WEIGHT?

Though there may be many reasons why you may be thin, the most apparent reason is because of your genetics. If your parents are naturally thin or have a small body frame, then you will most likely have the same small body type.

To some degree, your size can also be controlled by your metabolism. If you have a difficult time gaining weight of any kind (fat or muscle) then you most likely have a fast metabolism. That simply means that your body burns calories at a faster than normal rate. You must take this into account whenever you are considering a particular diet or training program. Is it geared towards someone with your metabolism and goal?

Now as you know, there are many ways to train. Hundreds, thousands even. Some work and some do not, but for the specific goal of gaining weight, there are a few UNIVERSAL things that all skinny guys must do.

Though much of the information I cover here is not as "magical" as you may like, I consider these rules to be the basics with regard to weight gain. These are not all of the answers, but they are definite elements that MUST be addressed in any successful weight gain program.

You should be able to easily integrate these rules into your current program to make it more suitable for your particular body and goals.

GENERAL RULES

1.Get the proper information that pertains to your SPECIFIC condition and goals.

The first big problem I find in most people is the lack of correct information. Yes you are motivated and doing things, but your effort is wasted on incorrect dieting and training information. Basically, skinny guys are taking advice from people who have never had a weight gain problem. Want to know how to gain weight? Then find someone who has walked your shoes. Someone who has been where you are.

2.Set a specific goal and create a plan of attack.

If you were to drive cross country to another city, would you just start driving randomly, or would you plan a route that would get you quickly and efficiently?

Think of your plan as a road map and your goal as your destination. Without a plan and a specific goal you will be without focus and can easily get lost or side tracked. This happens more often than you know. I see many people in the gym just doing whatever, or just eating whatever -- no plan or specific goal. They wonder why they don't make progress. They have no focus.

Having a specific program to follow allows you to take action each day. This action is focused on specifically getting you to your destination quickly. There is no thinking, debating or guessing. You just do it. A specific plan provides necessary daily structure that not only keeps you on the road moving forward, it also helps to develop good eating and training habits that will benefit you long after you have reached your destination.

3.Have confidence in yourself and belief in what you are doing.

Lets face it; we live in a cruel world. Hate and jealously is everywhere. For most people who begin a fitness program to improve themselves, getting started will be half the battle. The other half will be staying motivated throughout the constant onslaught of negativity from others. A few negative words can do serious damage if you allow it.

The most insulting things you hear may be from friends, co-workers and acquaintances at the gym. People hate change. It makes them insecure, because they suddenly discover theres more to you than they were probably willing to admit. They fear that you may actually achieve your goal. It makes them look less superior.

Once you have begun your plan, you must have faith and believe in what you are doing. Stay focused and avoid overly critical or negative people. If you have to, keep your business to yourself. When I first began my program, I stopped talking about what I was doing because I got tired of hearing things like you cant do that, thats impossible, youre wasting your time and money. Funny thing is, now those people are constantly bugging me for advice.

Its your life. Its your body. Its your dream. Dont allow your success or failure to rest in the hands of others.

WORKOUT RULES

4. Stop listening to every ridiculous piece of advice you hear in the gym or read on a message board.

Recently a client of mine informed me that someone in the gym stated that he was training all wrong and he needed to train 5-6 days a week, and aim for more reps during his workout. Somewhere in the range of 15-20 reps per set.

The person giving the advice was quite confident about his recommendations, and he had an impressive physique that typically elevates him to the elusive "listen to me if you want to look like me" level in the gym. He was bigger than my client, so even though my client's "intellectual" mind knows that advice is absurd; his "unrealistic dreamer" mind took this information very seriously. So seriously that he changed his program and didn't inform me until a week or so later. This particular person had been making great progress on his current program, yet he allowed this one persons comment to overshadow that progress and convince him that his program was inadequate. This is a mistake and it showed in his lack of further progress.

In addition, don't judge the validity of what a person says by how they look. Just because the guy is huge doesn't mean he is spewing pertinent advice for you. Many people that have big physiques are big despite of their training, not because of it. I know some huge guys that know very little about training and dieting correctly. They can do whatever and still gain muscle; unfortunately we are not that way, so we much approach things in a more intelligent way.

5.Workout Infrequently

This is the most difficult concept for many to grasp simply because it involves less action, instead of more. When we get motivated and start a new program, its natural to want to do something. We want to train and train and train. Thinking all along that the more you train, the more muscle you will build. Unfortunately, this could not be farther from the truth.

More training does not equal more muscle growth. Understand that the purpose of weight training is to stimulate muscle growth. That takes very little time. Once that has been done, the muscle needs to be repaired and new muscle needs to be built. That only happens when you are resting. You do not build muscle in the gym, you build muscle when resting! If you never give your body any essential non active time, when will it have a chance to build muscle? Think about that.

Now, add in the fact that you have a difficult time gaining weight and the importance of rest increases. Individuals who are naturally thin and have difficulty building muscle tend to require less training and more rest.

6. Focus on Multi-Jointed Lifts

Multi-jointed exercises are those that stimulate the most amounts of muscle fibers. Unlike isolation exercises which only work individual muscles, multi-jointed lifts work many different muscle groups simultaneously. For those needing to gain weight, this is ideal because these lifts put your body under the most amount of stress. This is the stress that will shock your nervous system and cause the greatest release of muscle building hormones. This results in increased muscle gain all over the body.

You can still do some isolation work; however it should not be the focus of your workouts, and should only come after your multi-jointed lifting is complete.

7. Focus on Using Free Weights

Free weights are preferred over machines for many reasons, but most importantly because they allow the stimulation of certain supporting muscle groups when training. Stimulating these stabilizer and synergistic muscles will allow you go get stronger, and ultimately build more muscle faster. Yes, some can most likely still build large amounts of muscle using machines, but why make it more difficult if you already have a difficult time gaining weight?

8. Lift a weight that is challenging for you

Building mass involves lifting relatively heavy weight. This is necessary because the muscle fibers that cause the most amount of muscle size growth (called Type IIB) are best stimulated by the lifting of heavy weight. A heavy weight as one that only allows you to perform 4-8 reps before your muscles fail.

Using a lighter weight and doing more reps can stimulate some Type IIB fibers, but again if you have a difficult time gaining weight, why make it more difficult? You need to try and stimulate as many as you can with the use of heavy weights.

9. Focus more on the eccentric portion of the exercise.

When you lift a weight, it can be divided into three distinct periods. The positive, the negative and midpoint. The concentric or positive motion usually involves the initial push or effort when you begin the rep. The midpoint is signaled by a short pause before reversing and returning to the starting position. The eccentric, or negative portion of each lift is characterized by your resistance against then natural pull of the weight.

For example, when doing push-ups, the positive motion is the actual pushing up motion. Once you have pushed all the way up, you hit the mid point. The negative motion begins when you start to lower yourself back down. Most would simply lower themselves as fast as they pushed up, but I recommend extending and slowing down this portion. Slowing down the eccentric part of the lift will help to stimulate more muscle growth. It actually activates more of the Type IIB fibers mentioned about in Rule 7.

10. Keep your workout short but intense.

Your goal should be to get in, stimulate your muscles and then get out as quickly as possible. It is not necessary to do large amounts of exercisers per body part trying to target every muscle and hit every angle. This should only be a concern of someone with an already developed, mature physique who is trying to improve weak areas.

If you have no pec, dont concern yourself with trying to target inner, outer, upper, lower or whatever. Just work your chest. You should do no more than 2-3 exercises per body part. Thats it. Doing more than that wont build more muscle, faster. In fact it could possibly lead to muscle loss. Long training sessions cause catabolic hormone levels to rise dramatically. Catabolic hormones are responsible for breaking down muscle tissue resulting in MUSCLE LOSS. While at the same time, long training sessions suppress the hormones that actually build muscle.

If you dont want to lose muscle during your workouts, I suggest limiting your sessions to no more than 60-75 minutes MAXIMUM. Less if you can.

11. Limit your aerobic activity and training

Honestly, I do not do any aerobic activity when I am trying to gain weight. This is mainly because it interferes with the important non-active time my body needs for muscle building and recovery. I do understand that people have lives and other activities that they don't want to give up, so it must be kept to a minimum. It wont hurt your progress as long as you dont over do it. If you find that you are doing more aerobic activity weight training, thats overdoing it.

I also dont recommend it because people tend do it for the wrong reasons. Many start aerobic activity because they believe it will help them to lose fat. While that is true, it wont do so on a high calorie mass diet. To lose fat, you need to be eating fewer calories.

12. Dont program hop

Heres how it usually happens. Youve just read about a new exercise or workout that is supposed to pack on the mass. Now, even though you had already started another training program a few weeks ago, you are tired of it and really want to start this routine instead because it sounds better.

I call these people, program hoppers. They are very enthusiastic when starting a new program, but they never follow it long enough to actually see any results. They are easily distracted and love to drop whatever they may be doing to follow the latest "hot" workout or exercise.

My advice is dont do it. This is a bad habit that never leads to a positive outcome. Understand that it takes time for any program to work. To be successful, you must follow your program consistently. Yes, there are many different training methods and interesting routines out there, but you cant do them all at the same time and jumping around wont allow enough time for any of them to actually be effective for you. Pick one that is focused on your current goal and stick with it. There will be plenty of time to try the others later, but NOT NOW.

EATING RULES

13. Eat more

This rule is pretty simple, but usually the one that is not done correctly. If weight gain is your goal, then you will need to eat more food. Period. In most cases, you will need to eat more than you are normally accustomed to.

One large problem that I had when starting out is I just had no appetite. I knew I needed to eat more, but I just did not want to. I had to force myself to eat at each meal. Thankfully, after about 2 weeks, my appetite grew. I was becoming hungry before each meal, and if I didn't eat my meal at the normal time, my body knew it.

If you have this problem, you still must eat something, no matter how much. Start off making yourself eat something small like fruit every few hours. Then, as your appetite becomes more active, gradually move into more real food.

What this will do is gradually get your body accustomed eating at regular intervals. Eventually you will be hungry before each meal time.

When eating more, you will need to make sure that you are getting plenty of good quality protein. Protein is a nutrient that is essential for building muscle. Every meal that you eat should contain some form of protein. Meal Replacement Powders like Myoplex are excellent for this purpose. They enable you to eat large amounts of good quality protein in a very convenient manner.

14. Eat more often

In addition to eating more calories, you should also strive to eat more often throughout the day. Eating infrequently, or going long periods without eating, will cause your body to breakdown muscle tissue for the calories it needs. This is especially true for those with fast metabolisms.

Spreading your meals throughout the day will give you more manageable meal sizes, improve nutrient assimilation, and make sure that your body always has the calories it needs for muscle building and repair. I recommend eating a high protein meal every 3 hours. During normal waking hours, that usually equals about 6 meals.

Now, I know what you are saying, Im too busy to do this, or how can I do that with a full time job and school? Dont let the thought of this being too difficult keep you from doing it. It may seem very inconvenient at first, but once you get in the habit of doing it, it becomes second nature and you dont have to give it much thought. Trust me, Ive been doing it for years and do not feel that its limiting or time consuming.

15. Use Nutritional Supplements.

Before you buy any product, remember that supplements are not magic. Too many people think that just because you buy the latest product, it guarantees that you will automatically begin to pack on the pounds. The truth is that supplements are only there to enhance an already solid diet and workout program.

They can give you the extra edge by:

* Adding More Convenience: Using food supplements like Myoplex or Designer Protein help to eliminate the common problem of 'not enough time', by providing you with a quick, efficient way to get your required nutrients each day. They make eating large amounts of calories and protein easier for people with low appetites.

* Increasing Strength Levels: Products that contain Creatine, like Phosphagen HP or Cell-Tech enable you to swing the odds of gaining more weight in your favor by increasing your strength output. Creatine enables you to lift heavier weights, which will stimulate more muscle fibers and cause more muscle growth.

* Decreasing Recovery Time: Vitamin C is essential to prevent free radical damage, which is accelerated after the heavy trauma of weight training. It is also essential is helping to repair connective tissue. All of this helps decrease the amount of time you are sore.

* Enhancing Your Immune System: Weight training increases the body's need for many minerals like magnesium and selenium. I always use a good multi-vitamin ensures that I am not deficient in any major essential vitamin or mineral. Deficiency symptoms include muscle weakness and suppression of the immune system, muscle cramping and fatigue.

I can honestly say that I could not have built the body I have today without the convenience and enhancements supplements provide. I simply don't have the time or desire to do it any other way. This is a choice that you must decide for yourself. You will be spending your money on these products, so make sure that you know their place in your program.

IS THIS POSSIBLE?

Yes, but I have to be honest and say that from my experience, gaining weight is much more difficult than losing fat. Even if you are doing everything right, it will still be difficult because you are fighting against what your body naturally prefers. If you are naturally thin, building an impressive physique involves persistence and determination, but no matter what anyone says, it is well within your ability.
